Description:

The aim of this course is to increase general practitioners’, family physicians’ and other healthcare practitioners’ awareness of PPIs in the management of upper GI conditions including GERD, peptic ulcer disease and dyspepsia.

Learning Objectives include:

  1. Understanding the role of double-dose PPI therapy and comparing various PPIs and their effects on clinically important outcomes.
  2. Recognizing clinical scenarios where PPIs may be inappropriately utilized and re-assessing medication therapy.
  3. Defining the role of PPI therapy in the treatment of asthma and laryngeal symptoms.
  4. Understanding the complications of Long-Term PPI Use.
