Melanoma - Recent advances in Surgical Management of Primary Melanoma

This module is intended for surgeons interested in recent research highlighting the prognostic value of sentinel node biopsy and new evidence on the benefit of total lymphadenectomy for patient survival. In this 1 hour module you will find: summaries of landmark trials in the field of melanoma, associated published commentaries, and relevant case-based scenarios with response feedback.

Learning objectives:

  1. Recognize the role of sentinel lymph node biopsyin the surgical management of localized melanoma.
  2. Assess the impact of the MSTL II trial on future recommendations regarding complete lymphadenectomy.
